Our Story Began With Rotring Pens and T-Squares
Rebar and Structural Steel Detailing by Industry professional
Kamil G. Cabuk is a Mechanical Engineer (B.S.) and Civil Engineer (M.S.) with over 20 years of hands-on experience in rebar detailing, structural steel detailing, concrete estimating, and construction management. Based in New York, he has worked on projects ranging from commercial and residential buildings to large-scale infrastructure, including bridges. He began his career drafting rebar shop drawings by hand, using Rotring pens, T-squares, and drafting tables—a time when every line mattered, mistakes could not be copied or pasted, and details had to be fully understood before they were drawn. He transitioned to AutoCAD in the mid-1990s, combining traditional drafting discipline with digital precision. In addition to detailing, Kamil has managed concrete construction on numerous commercial projects, giving him deep field knowledge and real-world problem-solving experience. He approaches every drawing and estimate as a site engineer, not just a drafter—anticipating conflicts, constructability issues, and execution challenges before they reach the field. He is the creator of Haqq Takeoff, LatestSet, and Rebar Tracker—tools built from decades of practical experience to help contractors, fabricators, and engineers work more accurately and efficiently
